Together with Carolien I visited the ADAC GT Masters weekend at the Nürburgring where Jonathan Cecotto had to race in F4. Johnny Cecotto compares Jonathan in the beginning of his Formula racing career. So we decided to go to Germany to meet Johnny and to see Jonathan race for the first time in Formula cars with the Motopark team. A report and pictures of that visit can be seen on this website HERE...

Johnny Cecotto competed at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in England. In that Classic event he drove in the BMW 782 F2 car from 1978.

Johnny Cecotto competes at the Sunday Ride Classic 2015 at the Paul Ricard circuit in France. At that same place he came 40 years ago to compete Motorcycle Racing GP’s for the very first time in Europe. He won both 250 and 350cc races at his first appearance and became World Champion later in 1975 in 350cc to dethrone no one else than Giacomo Agostini. There history started. Regrettably we cannot be there to see him race with the Yamaha’s of the French Classic Racing Team. The event is on April 4th and 5th in France.

Johnny Cecotto competed the Coupes Moto Légende at the French Dijon circuit. He was there together with a lot of other motorcycle racing world champions and legends. I was there together with my daughter Lindsey to make a report for the Official Johnny Cecotto Fansite. You can see the report and pictures of that event HERE

Johnny Cecotto informed me that he will competed the Coupes Moto Légendes at the Dijon circuit in France. He will ride a 500cc Yamaha from the early 80’s which are in the collection of the French Yamaha Racing Team. In the same team will be Christian Sarron and Steve Baker. We will go to Dijon to make a report and to meet Johnny Cecotto again after 2 years.

Johnny Cecotto competed the Oldtimer Grand Prix at the Nürburgring in honour of the 40th anniversary of BMW Motorsport. He drove the BMW 320i STW car and was 3rd in Saturdays race and 2nd in the race on Sunday. Also some other great names did compete at this classic BMW race event like Marc Surer, Dieter Quester and Prinz Leopold von Bayern.

On our holiday in June we visited Johnny Cecotto and his family at his home in Italy. We enjoyed our visit very much!! We went to see his storage with old racing stuff and his JC Racing equipment and also got out for diner together. A report of it is on the site HERE

Johnny Cecotto competed the Bikers’ Classics at Francorchamps this weekend. He did ride the Yamaha 500cc GP machine of Ferry Brouwers YCRT. Johnny was surprised by the interest of so many people after so many years and enjoyed to see old colleges and team mates.

Today I was called by Ferry Brouwer of the Yamaha Classic Racing Team with the news that Johnny Cecotto will be competing at the Bikers’ Classics event of this year at Francorchamps in Belgium. The event will be held on July 2nd & 3rd and of course I will be there to report for the Official Johnny Cecotto Fansite. All motorcycle racing fans from present and past should take the chance to see Cecotto once more on Yamaha!!
